As many of you know by now, we just found out today that we are having a little girl! We are very excited and surprised, we really thought it was going to be a boy. I guess my mom and my sister were right, they said all along they thought it was a girl! She is still measuring to be born on January 6th and she is growning well with no problems detected. We have decided to name her Leah! The middle name is still under debate...I like Grace but Josh doesn't...does anyone have any suggestions for a middle name???
Although this is a week of good news there was a very scary incident that happened on Tuesday that I will share with all of you. If you weren't already aware I have been struggling with a constant headache for about 9 weeks now. It has flared up into a migraine on a few occasions but mostly it's just a medium grade headache. And when I say constant, I mean constant-I fall asleep with it at night and wake up with it in the morning. It has been quite discouraging but I've been just trying to keep a positive attitude about it. So anyway, I was home alone in the kitchen making dinner around 5 or 6pm when out of no where I am hit with a very sudden, very severe pain in the right side of my head. It literally almost made me pass out. I was scared, crying and nearly screaming as I called 911. I didn't know what else to do. The pain was so sudden and so severe and I was alone and I could barely walk. Luckily we live in a small, safe town with only 4 full time police officers so the officer that came to the apartment recognized a picture of Josh on the wall (Josh often has contact with the local police department while he's working) so he called Josh right away. The ambulance arrived soon after and took me to the ER but not after a very sloppy IV was placed (are you supposed to have blood all over your arm? I don't think so...) anyway so I get to the ER and they give me Morphine but that does nothing for the pain, but it does calm me down a little. Josh arrives and they do a CAT scan which, thankfully, comes back normal- they were afraid maybe it was a bleed in my brain. Although I am still in just as much pain as when I arrived in the ambulance they have to discharge me because there is nothing more they can do without harming the baby. Their only advice was to take Tylenol....seriously, they told me to take Tylenol. The morphine didn't work, but hey, try Tylenol! lol So I was discharged around midnight and finally the pain began to subside around 11am, then I slept most of the day. And now I am grateful for my run of the mill migraine that I'm now walking around with (never thought I'd say that). After the ultrasound today we saw my OB and she recommended that I see a neurologist, just for another opinion. So we'll be calling him tomorrow to set up an appointment. So, the reason I'm sharing this is because I'd like to know what everyone else does when they have a headache....maybe it's something that might bring me relief, maybe something I have not tried yet.
But back to the good news, we got some great ultrasound photos of little Leah today that I will be posting within the next few days, so stay tuned!

oh my goodness! Horror! I'm so sorry you had to go through that!
WOW! A little princess! How exciting!! On the other side how scary was what you went through! I am so glad you are ok... I wonder if it was just a severe migraine that wasn't going away, maybe the neurologist can presecibe something for you that is safe for the baby. I sometimes can feel bad headaches coming and try caffeine first if that doesn't work then tylenol. I do believe it could just be hormones as well, when some much is happening it is hard for your body to catch up and recover like it used to. Try not to worry too much and realx until you meet with the doctor. though. Take care of yourself! Hope my advice helps a little :)
I hope you feel better! Aunt Caroline can't wait for Leah!!!
I can't wait to meet another ADPi legacy:) I'm sorry about your headaches. That is truly scary! I have never had that problem, but I hope you get answers and soon!!
