I'm back!

I know, I know….I have been a stranger to this blog lately and I have no excuse other than sheer laziness! But I am back and ready to update everyone on what we have been doing lately!

We just celebrated Josh’s 28th birthday on Saturday. It was a fun weekend of birthday festivities: cupcakes, movie, mexican food and a new winter coat for Josh- not to mention the awesome DVD’s from his parents (Family Guy and Scrubs!). Now he is just busy focusing on school and upcoming finals.

We are attending the Birth Education Class at the hospital next weekend and I plan to pack my hospital bag that weekend too. I don’t know why but I have a very strong feeling/instinct, whatever you want to call it, that Leah will be coming earlier than her January 6th due date. I think she will be here for Christmas actually….I’m betting somewhere between the 21st and the 23rd, but what do I know?!

As far as the pregnancy is concerned, everything is still going well. I had another check up last week (I have to go every 2 weeks now) and everything was perfect. The only thing is that I am still measuring about 2 weeks smaller than how far along I actually am. The doctor said that is fine, since I have been steadily growing, but that I have just been steadily behind the curve a bit. Next week she will do an ultrasound, just to make sure Leah is still growing ok. The doctor is sure she is fine and is just assuming she’s going to be small, like 5-6 lbs. Plus she wants to make sure that Leah is getting in the correct position for the birth! After next week’s appointment I will most likely need to go every week for a check up. As for me, my headache continues- I just hit the 5 month mark actually, from when it started. BLAH! Never did I think that I would have a constant 5 month long headache- but it’s ok- totally worth it, and I don’t have much longer to go. The only other problem I have been having is just some backaches and heartburn- so, still, other than the headaches, it is still going very smoothly. We are also in the process of meeting with Pediatricians and trying to find a good match for us. I met one last week and she seemed great so we may just go with her but my OB’s husband is a Pediatrician so we want to meet him too before we make a final decision. I DID find out that due to the time of year that she will be born, it is recommended that we not take Leah out of the house (except for doctor visits) until she is 8 weeks old….yikes!!

My last day of work, as of right now, will be December 18th. Although it’s nice to be earning a paycheck (as little as it may be) I am really looking forward to the new chapter in my life. In a year or so, once we get settled into a routine and Leah gets a little older I’m planning to look into some sort of a masters degree program that I can do while I’m home with her. That way, once she starts Kindergarten, I will hopefully be done, and can start working again. But who knows what will happen. If I have learned anything over the past several years it’s that you can only plan so much, the rest is just up to God, and that is a good thing!

Oh, and another announcement! We have finally decided on a middle name! Leah Elizabeth Andrews! Hope you all like it!

I also wanted to give a big congratulations to my friend Ashley who just found out that she and her husband Billy are having twins!!!! I am so happy for them and for Jen, one of my best friends, who will now be an aunt to TWO little angels due in June!!!!

Wish I could come visit you! I know we don't know eachother that great but one of these days I am going to come down there! For everywhere we have been in the world we have never been to the States, which is wierd since it is closest to us ;o) I am glad your pregnancy is coming along great! Can't wait to see pictures of little Leah. I think every mother needs their daughter! Are you planning on having more kids??
