Florida Trip

Finally I have a moment to write about my trip to FL! It was wonderful of course! I had a week to visit with family and friends and it was just what I needed. My grandparents even drove up to NPR from Englewood and spent almost 4 days with us. I don’t get to see them too often so it was really nice to have that time with them. The only disappointment was not being able to see Josh’s dad and my friend Mindy. They were both sick so I wasn’t able to spend any time with them.

The baby shower was fantastic and I think everyone had a really good time (everyone was so preoccupied with just eating and visiting that we didn’t even have time to play any of the fun shower games that my mom and Josh’s mom had planned). But as long as everyone had fun that is all that matters! Leah got some really adorable gifts but I think that I, by far, got the best gift of all- my best friend surprised me by flying to FL from Memphis! She had been telling me all along that she wasn’t going to be able to attend the shower and she even went so far as to send a bunch of gifts to us in MI for Leah. I am so grateful for all of our friends who kept her trip a secret- it was the best surprise seeing her walk around the corner on Friday night!

As much fun as I had, I really missed Josh so I am looking forward to the next FL trip we are planning for May. Josh, Leah and I will all be coming- the whole family!

The pregnancy is still going well- no changes. I am now seeing the doctor every 2 weeks instead of every month and that should continue until the very end when I’ll start going every week. Little Leah is growing well and I am measuring only a week smaller than what I am (the last measurement was 28 weeks but I was actually 29 weeks). She said that was fine as long as it is close. Although her due date is still January 6th I really have a feeling that she will be here closer to Christmas. It’s not that I’m hoping for her to be early, I want her to stay put for as long as she needs to, but I just have a feeling that she will be born on or around Christmas. We’ll see….

And again, a HUGE thanks again to everyone for all the gifts that we have received for Leah! Not only at the shower but all the UPS deliveries that we have been getting over the past few months! We are so lucky, thank you all so much!
