still waiting....

Hi everyone! We just wanted to give you all a little update. I went to the doctor yesterday for another check up (I am 38 weeks today) and I am 1 more centimeter dilated- so we are at 2 now. At this point we are still just waiting, it could be anytime now and Josh is betting on a Christmas baby!

Speaking of Josh, I have to just sing his praises for a second! I have the best husband ever! As an early Christmas present he suggested I spend a relaxing day at the spa! Well, actually it was 2 days because with the busy holiday week they did not have openings for all the services on the same day. On Monday evening I went and had a relaxing facial that included a hand, foot and neck massage. It was heaven! Then the next morning, after going to the doctor for my check up, I had lunch at Panera and then went back to the spa for an hour long prenatal massage and then a haircut. It was so relaxing and exactly what I needed. After that I picked Josh up from work and we went to dinner at PF Changs and then walked around the mall a bit. It was such a nice 2 days and I am so grateful to him for such a creative gift idea!

More about Josh...He is so excited about the baby and now that he is done with finals he has been reading up on ways to help me and make me more comfortable during labor. He was also reading about newborn care and seems especially interested in all the senses- like how babies love classical music and, at first, black and white images. He's going to be a great dad! He has the next 2 days off (Christmas Eve and Christmas Day) so we are looking forward to spending some quality time together. We are thinking about spending the day in Ann Arbor tomorrow and having lunch at a Spanish/Cuban restaurant that we have been wanting to try (we REALLY miss Tampa!!)

Leah received another Christmas present today, this time from her Aunt Kelly! It was an adorable, sparkly green and gold pacifier holder and tu-tu! Thanks for the USF colors Kelly! (Even though I know you are a Gator at heart!)

If we don't get a chance to blog in the next few days, we hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and we miss you all terribly. We are counting the days until our parents come to visit us in January and we look forward to seeing all of you when we come to Florida in May for Earl and Teri's wedding.

Merry Christmas Eve eve!
