Happy Valentines Day!
Our day started a little later than usual- Leah slept in! That never happens! Happy Valentines Day to me! Josh left early for a training at work so once Leah woke up I decided to take her to the brunch that they were having at our clubhouse. It was nice to have a break from preparing breakfast and Leah enjoyed the bagels, juice, fruit and donuts. In the middle of eating she turned to me and said “Happy Valentines Day Mommy!” What a doll!
After breakfast we went back home and Leah opened up her
gifts from Daddy. She loved
everything and we sent Josh a quick video of her saying thank you. The best part was the message inside
the card saying that he is taking her on a Daddy/Daughter date next week on his
day off. She has been wanting to
go on one for a while because she sees us going out on dates- she wants time
with her favorite guy too! She
already has it all planned too, she told me all of this last week: she wants us
all to drive to Steak-n-Shake to get me (just me) a vanilla milkshake, then
they will take me home and just Leah and Josh will return to Steak-n-Shake to
share cheese fries, mini corndogs or chicken (she’s not sure yet) and a vanilla
milk shake. Then they will come
home and she will share the rest of her milkshake with me. I guess since I miss out on the food
she figures it will soften the blow of I get 1 ½ milkshakes. LOL
After the gifts we baked Mickey Mouse cookies (Leah had a
lollypop while they baked) and then we decorated them. It was a sugar-fueled morning but a lot
of fun!
Last weekend Josh and I went out for a nice dinner and a
movie so tonight we are having an at home date night. He will be home early from work so that will be a treat too! We’ll get takeout and watch a movie after Leah goes to bed. Happy Valentines Day everyone!
