I have been a little quiet about our marathon training so
far. I've been a little too busy to blog and it's not natural for me to share everything I do publicly. But on Saturday (the morning after his graduation) Josh and I had signed up for a 10k- Miles for Mankind. They raise money for education programs and missions trips to Guatemala. Great cause. I was very excited about this race but that morning it was COLD and WINDY! The weather was awful but the race was great. I ended up having to run in my windbreaker because it was so windy and cold and it looked like it was going to rain. Josh ran in a sweatshirt. Not ideal for either of us but we finished and it felt great. Despite the weather I kept up with my training pace so I was happy. What I was not happy about was that the pictures they took highlighted my white winter legs. gross. For anyone who is wondering, I am running 3 days per week (two "short" runs that right now average about 50 minutes and one "long" run that, for now, is 80 minutes- of course, all of them will steadily increase as the weeks progress). I also do two cross training days and two rest days. I'm signed up for a half marathon on June 9th! On my way!
