Ballet Recital

Leah has been waiting all year for this day.  She will dance and show her “moves” to anyone who asks.  (not a shy kid)  As we were walking into the school we passed a group of older girls and Leah looked up at them and said “I’m super excited!”.  She did great and had a ball and only one of the girls “froze”.  Leah may have been the youngest in the class, by far, but she is a born performer- she does have some trouble staying in her spot in line, she tends to step forward and sort of dance in front of the other girls.  Nice.  I try to tell myself that it’s just her natural leadership qualities coming out.  Right?

After the performances were over, all of the dancers went back onstage to bow.  When that was over and I was carrying her backstage she asked “when am I going on stage again!”  I tried to explain that she isn’t until next year if she wants to do dance again but she kept insisting that she needed to “do another show.  Be onstage again!”  This kid is already giving me greys.  After the show she happily carried around the roses from her Daddy and then we treated her to some ice cream.  I’m excited to get the DVD of the show because I was only able to see it from backstage.  She is such a little doll!
