Josh’s parents arrived on Wednesday to spend the week with
us and we are so excited to have them here! We picked them up at the airport, went to lunch and then
just relaxed for the rest of the day- we have a long week ahead!
On Thursday we visited the law school in the morning then
had lunch at Slows BBQ in Detroit- always a winner! That evening was Leah’s rehearsal for her ballet
recital on Saturday. It was
so cute how excited she was! It’s
not AS cute when she doesn’t listen to me and tries to continually run onto the
stage when other groups are dancing.
She is also always in the middle of something…..whispering with another
kid and that kid saying “ohhh that’s a good idea” (WHAT is a good idea Leah?!), switching her place in line,
just generally bouncing off the walls.
One of the moms laughed and said to me “it’s always fun when you realize
that your kid is "that" kid”.
Yup. (btw, she meant it in
a loving way- it was her daughter that Leah was conspiring with). Before you think my sweetie is a
complete nightmare, she is also the first to hold a shy child’s shoulder and
“it’s ok, it’ll be fun!” or to share her snacks or run over and check on
someone if they fall, or to stand up to a “bully” and say “hey, that’s not
being a good friend!” . She has a
heart of pure gold but her spirit is full of fire! And we wouldn’t have her any
other way.
